Hi guys! It is surprisingly a gloomy, rainy day in this typically grossly hot California town I live in. Which just happens to be my favorite! I had planned on busting out a few makeup looks today since I’m off and pre writing blog post tutorials, but I can’t help but fall into my comfy/lazy/gloomy day vibes. So why not post my favorite things on rainy days?
Obviously to start I have to be cozy af! For me that means fuzzy clothes and blankets. My currents go tos:
Microlight Plush Blanket
I have two that I just can’t get rid of. I can’t find them on Target’s website, but I’m pretty sure these are the same linked just king size instead of queen. Which I mean is that really a problem? They’re soft and cozy, but still warm. I have a few fuzzy blankets that are sooooo soft but provide no warmth.
Active High Waist Leggings
I have yet to find a pair of leggings I love more than these from Forever21. They’re so stretchy yet light. (You know because you’re supposed to work out in them but they work perf for lounging.)
Cozy Oversized Sweater
I wish I could live in this sweater. It is my go to on rainy days, sick days, too much wine the night before days….. I wear an XL normally but I have this in a 2X so that its super over sized and warm.
I have a drawer full of just fuzzy, cozy socks I’ve accumulated over the years. I typically get mine at Target and they’re never on my shopping list, it just happen. But you can get them anywhere.
Now to eat/drink I like to stick to easy warm foods. A lot of soups and teas. If you have a crockpot, these are the days to bust it out.
My favorites are:
Broccoli Cheddar Soup.
Subway & Panera have amazing premade options. But my favorite is the microwavable one from Costco when I don’t feel like cooking. When I do want to cook I use this recipe.
I have yet to make it better than my sister in law but I do love this recipe. Or just go to Costco from the premade again. Honestly Costco is where it’s at for soups.
My family gets together and makes multiple pots of this every year on New Years Day with fry bread. But I love to make a small pot on rainy or sick days through the year. I’ve never tried any meatball soup other than our homemade one, so if that’s a recipe anyone is interested in I can make a post.
Caramel Spice from Starbucks.
Day, Night I don’t care I love this drink so much. It’s just caramel apple cider with whip cream, so you can definitely make it at home.
Vanilla SleepyTime Tea.
I have trouble sleeping as it is, so this is one of my favorite sleepy teas. I add honey to mine, they have a honey vanilla one but idk I’m just not as into it as I am this one.
And of course I will always recommend getting your coffee cups or soup mugs from Target, because they’re always cute and the perfect size.
What good is a lazy day than a binge worthy show? I love watching a good show on Netflix or Hulu, but I have my shows that I can binge on when I’m sick or staying in all day because you can doze in and out of do something in the background. Mine are:
Gossip Girl. I’ve honestly seen this start to finish like 5 times.
American Horror Story Murder House or Coven.
The Vampire Diaries. This is currently go to at my boyfriends when I’m getting ready or to going to bed earlier than him.
Gilmore Girls. ALL THE GOOD FEELS.
Hart of Dixie. I will actually be restarting this tonight I’m pretty sure.
The OC. When I was in high school my brother had all the seasons on DVD that happened to wind up in my collection, and every time I was home sick I’d lay in bed and binge. Seth Cohen will forever be my MCM I don’t even care.
And lastly when you’re staying in why would you put a face full of makeup on? Rainy days are perfect for self care. I need to step my game up on skin care so please help a girl out and give me suggestions. These are what I’m using currently though:
Milk Makeup Cooling Water Stick
I use this under my eyes to wake them up.
Belief True Cream Aqua Bomb
I am obsesssssed. This will make your skin stay hydrated all day.
Colourpop Lip Balm. I have the Amber one from Sephora bundle. I remember them doing a full gem collection on their website I just didn’t seem to intrigued. But GUYS. This Amber one is amazing and smells just like Mangos.
